| Established in
1984. It was a time when Mark "Wax" Weixeldorfer, "Dyno" Dean Sundahl &
other up & coming racers were marked with a nickname. Writing in felt marker
on my boogie board "Gnarly Racing", my uncle started calling me "Gnarly". I
entered my first desert race, when I met a little round dude named FUD.
Hearing my uncle call me Gnarly, Fud added by giving the nickname GNARLY
DAVE. It seem to fit, just as a guy with the name FUD did. Gnarly Racing was
born!!!!!! Since then it has been a terrific journey. Some great times some
sad & disappointing times. The guys & gals who have been & still are apart
of the team are greatly respected by this racer. Our biggest accomplishment
by far is our 5-1600 CHAMPIONSHIP in 2004. I dedicate that season to my
mother who passed away before seeing that championship coming to life. We
also acquired the Toyota Milestone award for finishing every mile of every
race in the Score 2004 season. It was a blessing after 20 years of paying
the off-road dues for such a paramount season. Not bad for a grass roots
club to build & prep a race car & pre-runner out of my three car garage at
